Dan E. Thompson

Dan E. Thompson is a Certified Public Accountant whose diverse background in servicing the tax, accounting and business needs of small businesses enables him to serve our clients with skill and professionalism. His experience includes ten years as principal with a firm specializing in complex tax and accounting solutions for small businesses and individuals. His successful audit defense of clients' positions before the Internal Revenue Service has enhanced his clients' financial interests significantly.

Mr. Thompson's experience performing audits and contract analyses in the healthcare industry puts him in a unique position to provide specialized tax and reimbursement consultation to healthcare facilities and professionals. He prepares cost and statistical reports for government reporting purposes and renders valuable tax planning services for healthcare providers.

Mr. Thompson is a member of the California Society of CPAs and serves on the Boards of Directors of Hope Hospice and Bethesda Home.

Matthew E. DePretis

Matthew E. DePretis, CPA, has extensive experience in the fields of finance, tax and accounting. He has worked in a variety of industries with small and medium-sized businesses, as well as individuals, and has successfully represented clients before the Internal Revenue Service, the California Franchise Tax Board and other government agencies.

Mr. DePretis began his career with Touche Ross and Company, now Deloitte & Touche LLP. Prior to co-founding Thompson & DePretis, he was corporate controller with Fabricated Metals, Inc., a capital equipment manufacturer and lessor, and with LiquidSpring Corporation, a high tech firm in the automobile industry.

Mr. DePretis is a member of the California Society of CPAs. He completed the Leadership program with the City of Pleasanton and the Pleasanton Chamber of Commerce and serves on the Board of Directors of the Valley Pregnancy Center.

Barbara Lemmer, CPA, assists with corporate accounting and tax issues. Her experience in the high tech industry enables her to resolve clients' accounting problems quickly and efficiently and to establish procedures that ensure smooth accounting operations.

Stacy Flaming assists with clients' bookkeeping needs. She has the unique ability to organize bookkeeping files and implement accounting procedures. Her joyful spirit is infectious in the work environment.

Cherub Halperin is accomplished in the income tax arena. Her ability to analyze financial data during the process of preparing tax returns often results in tax planning and savings opportunities for our clients.

Laura Start is skilled in accounting, tax and client support services. She recently received her Bachelor of Science degree in accounting and is continuing to pursue her education goals at the graduate level.

Denise Franklin-Haynes keeps our office running smoothly and efficiently as our office manager. Her organizational skills and consistently positive and helpful attitude are true assets to our firm.
